LIFTED FIFTH

TYPE: Fontaine 3000 FFH Class G50-X
The fifth wheel is designed for truck tractors of Mega type, which have a lifting mechanism for hooking trailers of a standard height. In the raised position, the fifth wheel has the same strength as in the lowered position - both types of semi-trailers may be loaded in the same way.
ADVANTAGES
The highest technical parameters on the market
D = 130 kN - maximum traction force, for the set consisting of a 2-axle truck tractor + 3-axle semi-trailer with authorised mass of 40 tons, is approx. 90 kN - which means that the fifth wheel has a large strength reserve.
U = 18 ton - maximum pressure on the fifth wheel; a standard 3-axle semi-trailer with a length of 13.6 m, loaded up to the maximum authorised mass, presses the fifth wheel with a mass of 12 t - which means that the fifth wheel has a large strength reserve.

The fifth wheel is delivered with mounting screws and other elements necessary for installation (set of nuts, pneumatic tubes, terminals).
TechLock
No contact = no coupling
Patented TechLock system’s height sensor, specially designed to reduce the risk of miscoupling, prevents closing of the fifth wheel, when the kingpin enters at the incorrect height or position.
Jaw protection
Our profiled safeguards protect the TechLock® mechanism against damage caused by improper coupling.
Reduced kingpin wear
The contact surface of the kingpin (360°) extends the life of the kingpin and fifth wheel mechanism.

Selectable lifting height
167 mm plus 104 mm = 267 mm
167 mm plus 154 mm = 321 mm
We recommend the version with 154 mm lifting, as this is usually the difference in height between the fifth wheel of Mega and Standard truck tractor. The lifting height depends on the height of the feet supporting the fifth wheel after lifting. If you need a lower version, we offer the replacement of feet within 6 months of purchase - free of charge in our servicing facilities in Poznan.

lubrication system
The upper plate of the fifth wheel - 300 lm
(lm = low maintenance) - cast iron plate with the slide plates made of especially resistant plastic, which restricts the use of grease.

Single point lubrication
Single-point lubrication system from Fontaine Fifth Wheel automatically applies grease to the king pin and it may be programmed for operational intervals from 1 to 12 months, so the user does not have to worry about the lubrication.
CALCULATOR
The parameter specifies the maximum allowable pressure on the
fifth wheel in tonnes, but not the maximum load capacity of the semi-trailer,
therefore, standard 3-axle semi-trailers have no limits
of the load capacity.
